Magnolia kobus stellata
Magnolia stellata, or Star Magnolia, is native to Japan. It is a small deciduous tree that grows 15-20’ tall with a spreading, rounded crown. It is also often grown as a large oval to rounded shrub. It is noted for its compact size and late winter to early spring bloom of star-shaped white flowers. Each flower typically has 12-18 narrow strap-like tepals. ‘Waterlily’ grows to a somewhat compact 8-12' tall over the first 10 years. It produces very fragrant, star-like, white flowers that cover the tree with bloom in early spring (March-early April). Flowers emerge from pink buds.
Prices listed are subject to change, based upon size change and availability.
We are a small local nursery with limited shipping capability. We will do our best to ship smaller material (usually 1 or 2 gallon), although we can sometimes ship larger plants with the pots removed.
We have some species that are not listed, as we have too few of them to make a full listing plausible. You can always inquire.
We will consider contract growing an order with appropriate advance notice and availability of seed, cuttings or lining out stock.
