Sarracenia leucophylla, also known as the White Pitcher Plant, is a carnivorous plant in the genus Sarracenia. Like all the Sarracenia, it is native to the New World and inhabits moist and low-nutrient Longleaf Pine (Pinus palustris) savannas, primarily along the United States Gulf Coast and boggy areas of the southeastern United States, where sphagnum moss predominates.

Sarracenia leucophylla can be cultivated as an ornamental plant. Despite its native range in the Southeastern U.S., it is remarkably hardy and can be grown outside even in USDA zones 6 and colder. In the Mid Atlantic region, it can be grown outdoors in standing water with little winter protection.  We water ours with only rainwater and snowmelt, and occassionally with well water.  Salt and high sodium or calcium content are not favorable.

Information

Prices listed are subject to change, based upon size change and availability.

We are a small local nursery with limited shipping capability. We will do our best to ship smaller material (usually 1 or 2 gallon), although we can sometimes ship larger plants with the pots removed.

We have some species that are not listed, as we have too few of them to make a full listing plausible. You can always inquire.

We will consider contract growing an order with appropriate advance notice and availability of seed, cuttings or lining out stock.
